As I continue my life’s journey, now moving into my eighth decade and blessed with so much, I can add yet another positive memory to my collection: the adoption of my two former stepdaughters, Katie and Brooke.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I’ve taken advantage of having my own website to share some of the story of my relationship with these two special women.

 

It only took 40-plus years to officially change their relationship to me to that of daughters, although in every sense of the word, I have seen them in that role for many years. I truly hope what the judge said about their mother, Joan, smiling down approvingly at this confirmation of our ongoing love is true.

We have had a wild ride, and hopefully it will continue for many years to come, or at least long enough for me to write the book.
